Cats and chickens wandering. I only used 2 cups worth of gram crackers, and 1 whole stick of butter to get the crackers to clump nicely and be able to pack the crust without it falling apart, also to the perspn that mentioned to cook the custard for 15 minutes prior to the merengue a big THANKS!!! Our server was called Cliff who was excellent in terms of friendliness, making recommendations and attentiveness.
The gift shop has some cool little items great for gift giving. For Filling: Whisk the condensed milk with the lime juice and egg yolks in a stainless steel bowl. She raved about it!

It is outdoor dining with a bar and usually quiet local music. The menu is varied with many excellent seafood dishes but it is hard to get away from the yellowtail snapper. Key lime pie with 3 inches of merangue is a great finish. Sunday brunch is also excellent but be relaxed and prepared to wait. But it is worth it. It is very inviting and comfortable. The people that work there are very friendly and helpful with helping you with your orders. Which this can be a problem because everything on the menu is delicious. The banana bread is worth taking some home with you. The coffee is fresh and beautiful brewed. Eggs cooked to perfection. The gift shop has some cool little items great for gift giving. We will be making this place our must stop for breakfast in Key West. We eat mostly vegetarian and they had several options that were delicious. The food has a Cuban slant which was fun for us as we live on the opposite end of the country! And the key lime pie, we were told best anywhere... Still, highly recommend and the service was excellent! Our fruit was fresh and the banana bread was great. We always stop here when in Key West.
Oh, goodness, look at this waist: Pie, Cake. Don't leave the island without stopping here for a meal - breakfast is fantastic, lunch is even better. However, not in this case. Hemingway decided to surprise her husband with a swimming pool at their residence on Whitehead Street, his boxing ring was moved around the corner to Blue Heaven. Key lime pie with 3 inches of merangue is a great finish. Had enough graham cracker crust for two or three more pies, half the recipe for the crust and youll still have enough for two pies.
